Southern Oregon Success (SORS) is a collective impact effort embracing trauma informed practices to improve outcomes for children, youth and their families from preconception to age 24 in Jackson and Josephine counties. SORS is the Regional Achievement Collaborative (RAC) for Jackson and Josephine Counties and an autonomous initiative of 100 multi-sector organizations under the fiscal sponsorship of Southern Oregon Education Service District. SORS is often described as a “collaborative of collaboratives” and is a key partner in Self-Healing Communities, the local System of Care, Regional Health Equity Coalition, and many other multisector efforts. Over 70,000 youth in our region need support to transition successfully into adulthood. An effort of this magnitude cannot be achieved by any one organization or sector.
SORS is uniquely qualified to address the needs and opportunities for Southern Oregon youth and their families. No other initiative carries the breadth of representation across healthy birth, early learning, K-12, youth development, human services, post-secondary education, health, and workforce development in this region. SORS works across the entire youth spectrum and across all related systems with the intent of meeting the comprehensive needs of our youth.
